Welcome to our site

“I might not be the brightest bulb in the chandelier, but I’m pretty good at getting most of the other bulbs to light up” Jack Welch

My name is Mahadi Moloi, a mom to two handsome boys aged 34years and 28years, and a Glamma to a 10-year-old granddaughter. Now that I have reached the golden age of happiness, I choose to live life with a positive attitude and to find contentment and joy in everything I do to remain young@heart. I started this website to connect with other young@hearts and share frank midlife conversations that we matured modern-day women can relate to. We have reached the age where suddenly, we are called with names which are demeaning. Names such as, Pensioner, Senior Citizen, Aunty, Magogo, MaOulady…

I used to get annoyed and offended by such labels because they make us feel OLD and worthless. But knowing that our inner being does not age, that we are always the same age inside, has helped me to get over these demeaning labels. I have come to realize that when you know who you are and how you feel, you will not let such labels get to you.I hope our site will inspire you to re-invent yourself and you will take negative labels that others put on you with a pinch of salt.Using Jack Welch’s words, I might not be the brightest bulb in the chandelier of life, but my hope is to inspire other bulbs to shine bright

About us

A blog for us 50+ women, who finally “GET IT”- that we must live life on our own terms!

We are driven by light, we live in the light, and we are light.

We do not only retire from our jobs, but we retire from a lifetime of taking care of everyone else BUT ourselves.

We do not allow other people’s opinion about us to affect us.

Most of us have quit the rat race and we are finally doing what brings joy to our hearts.

We have unconditional love for self, family, and friends

We are open, frank, vulnerable, personal, and humorous

We are breaking the stereotypes of ageing.

You can create magic
